Just before the coronavirus pandemic hit Canada, Gibsons Seniors Society started a program which offers prepared meals at cost to their members. Chef Katrina, owner of Salt & Swine, provides these seniors’ meals for pick up twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Anyone can order the seniors’ meals at cost (50% off regular price) if they become members of the Gibsons Seniors Society. (Membership is $20/year, running from Sept 1st to August 31st. You can currently purchase membership from now till August 31st for $10.) Non-members can order the meals for regular price.
Seniors meals can be picked up from Harmony Hall in Lower Gibsons between 4:00 and 5:30 pm. Salt & Swine is also offering free delivery within the town limits of Gibsons for anyone not able to pick up. If you live outside of Gibsons but would like delivery, this can be arranged for a small charge.

Payment options include:
- By debit or credit at the door. If you have your card set up for “tap”, your payment can be totally hands-free.
- By e-transfer which is done from your own computer so definitely no contact.
Sample meals include:
- grilled bratwurst, German potato salad, and green beans
- pork and vegetable fried rice, with veggie spring rolls
- lasagna and garlic bread
Salt & Swing also offers regularly-priced items from their menu for pick and delivery on Thursday and Saturday. Price varies per item. They are looking into delivery options for Sechelt. You can find their menu on their facebook page.
